RESULTS AND DISCUSSION:

Yields in this test ranged from 1403 lbs. Lint/A down to 761 lbs. Lint/A. One of the experimental lines developed by Terry Wheeler and John Gannaway ranked second in yield. The nematode counts were number of eggs per 500 cc. Of soil. These counts ranged from 43,080 to 960. The two experimental lines had egg counts of 960 and 1300. ‘Stoneville LA 887', the resistant check, produced only 1165 eggs.
